When Evan and Louisa first described their wedding to me, I was dying to shoot it. Evan and Louisa were married in the Olympic National Park on Lake Crescent. They did not opt for a traditional wedding venue, but instead went with the Olympic Park Institute, which is mostly used for educational programs to teach students about the environment. The wanted a photographer to be there the whole day, from the morning “wedding hike” to the two live bands at night. I was so grateful I got to be there to capture the day. I was also very lucky to be shooting with an amazing second shooter, Jeramie Shoda.

When I first saw the Olympic Park Institute I was blown away. It really was a breathtaking location.

Evan and Louisa were blessed to have so many people helping with all the wedding details.  I got to capture it all coming together in the morning.

The bouquets and centerpieces were put together by her mother, grandmother and others after they gathered flowers from the Cutting Garden in Sequim.

Early in the morning everyone gathered outside of the Rosemary Inn for a wedding hike to the Falls led by Evan and Louisa.

While Evan and Louisa got ready in the cabins, the guest had the option of going on a canoe ride on the lake.

This was the first wedding I’ve photographed were the men all had real bow ties. If you though putting on a dress was hard, think again.

Louisa’s beautiful dress was handmade by her mother.

Louisa rented these lovely vintage umbrellas from Bella Umbrellas. Luckily we only had to use them as props.

Although rain was threatening all weekend, it luckily heald off until the reception. The ceremony site could not have been more beautiful, right on the lake.

After the ceremony, their parents gave toasts in front of the cabins.

We got to spend some time walking around the area.  There were so many gorgeous locations, and Evan and Louisa got some time to enjoy being husband and wife.

The dinner was held on the grounds under a tent with a view of the Lake and cabins all around.

As night fell and the rain started to come, we headed inside the Rosemary Inn for cupcakes from Trophy cupcakes, live music from The Impressionists AKA J minus , Bad Road, and lots of dancing.
