Colin and Eva’s Fireseed Catering wedding took place on the lovely Whidbey Island surrounded by the forest, with rambling gardens and views of the lake and valley below.

A wedding is but a reflection. A mirror held up to the couple and showing the couple, and any who care to gaze upon the mirror, just how much love is being exuded. Why do we spend so much time planning every little detail? Why do we obsess over the table settings, study endless combinations of colors, brainstorm where to use our great grandmother’s antique quilts, find the best stones to use as a guest book, search out the best placement of our parents’ old window panes, taste test various scone and jam recipes, and painstakingly choose the location, the location, the location (where His family lives and where Her summer camp memories still linger)? Is it to flaunt our style? Our love? Our happiness?

No, it is because a wedding is but a reflection and we want only to reflect our relationship. We want to show the hard work that will go in to our marriage. We show that every decision will be made with care and with style and with compromise and with respect to the past and with the future in mind.

It’s a reflection. A very wonderful reflection.
